Privacy Policy

Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Henry van de Vorming c/o AutorenServices.de Birkenallee 24 36037 Fulda, Germany

E-Mail: hello@arrimundo.com

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as the statutory thresholds for doing so are not met.

Overview

Study Abroad provides information for international students. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data we collect

  • Contact form submissions: name, email, subject, and message.
  • Server logs: basic technical data (IP address, browser, timestamps) collected by our hosting provider.

We do not require accounts to browse the site.

How we use data

  • Respond to inquiries and feedback.
  • Maintain site security and performance.
  • Improve content accuracy when users report updates or corrections.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies needed for the site to function, as well as analytics and advertising cookies that are set only with your consent (see the Analytics and Advertising sections below). We also store theme preferences locally in your browser (local storage) to remember your light/dark mode choice.

Analytics

We use analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve our content:

  • Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited (and Google LLC). It loads only with your consent. With consent it sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) and processes data such as your truncated IP address, device and browser information, the pages you view, and your interactions, to produce aggregated usage statistics. This can involve transferring data to Google servers in the United States (Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time via our consent banner. You can also install Google's browser opt-out add-on. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
  • Plausible Analytics, provided by Plausible Insights OÜ and hosted in the EU. Plausible is privacy-friendly: it is cookieless, does not collect personal data, and never tracks you across websites — it only produces aggregated, anonymous statistics. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in measuring site performance, so it runs without requiring consent.
  • PostHog, provided by PostHog, Inc., hosted on PostHog EU Cloud (data stored in the EU). Requests are routed through our own subdomain t.study-abroad.org. PostHog runs in cookieless mode: it sets no cookies and no local storage on your device. It processes your IP address, browser and device information, the page you view, the referrer, screen size and page-performance data to produce aggregated usage statistics. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding and improving this website.

Hosting and service providers

  • Hosting: Netlify (website hosting and server logs).
  • Forms: Netlify Forms (for contact submissions).

We use Grow.me by Mediavine for advertising and audience engagement (see the section below) and the analytics services described above.

Advertising and Grow.me (Mediavine)

We use Grow.me, a service provided by Mediavine, Inc., to power audience-engagement features and to display and personalize advertising on this website.

To do this, Grow/Mediavine and its advertising partners may:

  • store and access cookies and similar technologies (including local storage) on your device;
  • process technical data such as your IP address, device and browser information, and approximate location;
  • use identifiers and usage data to measure and personalize ads and content, build audience insights, and prevent fraud.

This may involve sharing data with third-party advertising partners acting as independent controllers. Where required, advertising and non-essential cookies are used only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time via our consent banner.

For details on how Mediavine processes data and your choices, see the Mediavine Privacy Policy. You can manage or withdraw consent at any time through the cookie/consent settings on this site.

Data retention

We retain contact submissions only as long as necessary to respond and maintain records for follow-up. Server logs are retained per the hosting provider’s standard policies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

  • Access to the data we hold about you (Art. 15)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
  • Erasure (Art. 17)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
  • Data portability (Art. 20)
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
  • Withdrawal of consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3))

An email to hello@arrimundo.com is enough to exercise any of these.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Postfach 3163, 65021 Wiesbaden, Germany.
